INSPIRED BY THE DESERT; SIFTING SAND REPRESENTATIVE OF CHANGE, HISTORY, AND SOLITUDE.

AS A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT, MOVERS PERFORMED VIGNETTES OF SOLO, DUET, TRIO, AND ENSEMBLE DANCES. THE ULTIMATE GOAL WAS TO DISCOVER THE NAVIGATION BETWEEN SOLITUDE AND CONNECTION IN THIS EVER-CHANGING WORLD.

As the set designer, i sought to EXPLORE HOW I COULD CREATE AN EXPANSIVE AND ABSTRACT DESERT IN A BLACK BOX THAT WAS 38'X20'.

MY CONCEPT WAS A FORCED-PERSPECTIVE PATH THAT EXTENDED UP THE WALL WITH 3 ROWS OF BURLAP MASKING ON EITHER SIDE, CREATING A V-SHAPE.
